An Introductory Thought..

It is my intention that this page serve in the absence of a formal “About Me”. Like many, my life is a “work in progress”, so I may add/adjust any pertinent personal details as time passes; however, rather than initially introduce myself with a list of characteristics, interests, or credentials, I choose to share a thought which I believe reflects, more clearly than an all-inclusive summary could, the nature of my mind.

***

I believe there is a price in choosing to embrace your humanity, in humbling yourself and recognizing something larger than the minuscule, material, and trivial aspects of society that truly do nothing for the human being (heart, soul, mind, spirit, body)…Cognizance brings torture, breeds dissatisfaction, struggle, confusion, and anger- which becomes enlightenment should you embrace and wrestle with the pain…finally you may choose empathy… Rather than ignorance, the comfortable bliss of vehemently denying the existence of realities beyond your own or those that are too complex or controversial for your liking- you may choose to be actively aware… To expand on the limitations of your “single narrative” and venture into territory that may shake the very foundations of your perspective… It is our nature to organize life into schemas and to seek the gestalt , even when- in truth- we do not have nearly enough information, experience, exposure, or intimacy to make a single “certain” or “whole” judgment about the endless depth that is another human being in their entirety…

Thus, when you take this plunge, risk the possibility of being wrong, of acknowledging bias, assumption, and mentalities built on prejudice… You may see something simple. You may have found your humanity… In recognizing existence of a similar life light- one which resides in each body and becomes apparent when such bodies are stripped of the labels, titles, and dispositions heaped upon each individual through the flawed practices instilled by the endless social constructs we’ve employed- suddenly silence, inaction, complacency, or the dismissal of injustice, oppression, degradation, and exploitation -of any PERSON- becomes the most painful, pathetic, and inhumane response…

“In a participatory universe, there are NO neutral observers”(a phrase repeated ofttimes yet in this specificity, origin unknown)…
